David Southworth, owner of Willowbend on Cape Cod and the Renaissance Golf Club in Haverhill, welcomed the reopening, saying there will be “a lot of happy faces among both staff and members” despite restrictions on golf carts and even bathrooms.

Country club operators like Southworth have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars as tee times, weddings and other events have been canceled over the last seven weeks amid the coronavirus business shutdowns.
